07/01/2025Suspension of Work in the District of Columbia Observance of Independence Day Friday, July 4, 2025
In observance and recognition of Juneteenth, there will be a temporary suspension of work in the District on Friday, July 4, 2025, effective 12 p.m., on Thursday, July 3. Lane closures and work zones will not be allowed for non-emergency work in roadways, alleys and sidewalks within the designated areas. (Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) today announced that its staff will no longer post Emergency Parking/Reserved Parking (ENP/RP) signs on behalf of out-of-town customers, effective immediately. This courtesy service was offered to incoming residents who needed the signs to reserve parking for moving trucks during relocation into the District of Columbia. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, DDOT can no longer offer the courtesy service. rental permit required for use of the public space within the District of Columbia.
Whether you need to occupy metered and unmetered curbside parking, sidewalk, alley
or travel lane areas for your activity or construction related work, TOPS will work
for you. If you are a developer or are in need of a zoning plan review through the
Development Review Branch, TOPS will work for you as well.
